This role involves providing person-centered, community-based support that promotes independence, safety, and a high quality of life within the home and local community. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, cooking, and household tasks. Monitor patient health and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Uphold client rights and ensure a respectful, dignified environment for all individuals. Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their social skills and independence. Maintain confidentiality of client information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including case managers and healthcare providers. Engage clients in recreational activities that enhance their quality of life and promote community involvement. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Must be 21 years of age with at least 1 year experience as a DSP Valid driver's license with a good driving record Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs (preferred) Ability to pass background checks and required training (CPR, First Aid, etc.) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Must be female due to direct care needs of the client, in accordance with bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) provisions Requirements Previous experience in 1915i Community Living Supports assisted living is preferred but not mandatory. Strong understanding of resident rights and commitment to providing compassionate care. Ability to work effectively with individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques is beneficial. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
