Job Description

LIFE, Inc. - New Bern is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide exceptional care and support to clients in New Bern, NC. This role offers a competitive compensation of $17.50 per hour, paid bi-weekly, and requires a compassionate individual committed to enhancing the well-being and independence of those we serve. The position involves working every other weekend from 7 AM to 3 PM on the first shift . Responsibilities Assist and monitor clients while dressing, bathing, toileting, and in all other aspects of self-care. Assist and monitor clients during meals to ensure utilization of family style dining. Assist and monitor clients in all aspects of housekeeping responsibilities (Clothing care, house cleaning, and yard care). Assist and monitor clients in preparing meals and nutritional supplements. Assist and monitor clients in the administration of prescribed medication without error. Assist and monitor clients in the implementation of prescribed diet orders and utilization of adaptive equipment. Implement and follow all established behavior programs, data collection, and established safety procedures. Assist and monitor clients in appropriate active treatment including training objective plans, recording data, and implementing service goals. Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team and communicate appropriate client information as directed by supervisory staff. Transport and monitor clients on Company vehicles as directed. Assist and monitor clients during community outings. Assist and monitor clients during participation at school and day program activities. Attend staff development classes as scheduled and successfully complete required competency testing (MANDT, CPR, First Aid, Safe Van Driving, Promotion of Consumer Well Being, Cultural Competency and Medication Administration). Ensure that work area and company vehicles are clean, safe, secure, and well maintained. Perform other duties as assigned by managers. Requirements Minimum of High School Diploma or GED. NC Driver's License. 21 years of age or older. No previous experience required.
