This rewarding role offers the opportunity to provide personalized care in home and community settings while promoting independence, comfort, safety, and overall well-being. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced caregiver for a client diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome with intractable epilepsy and a history of status epilepticus. The ideal candidate must be comfortable providing high-acuity support, seizure monitoring, medication assistance, safety supervision, and assistance with activities of daily living. Experience working with seizure disorders, neurological conditions, or medically fragile clients is strongly preferred. Candidates must remain calm in emergency situations and follow established care protocols and seizure response plans.
Responsibilities:
Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility support Monitor and observe for seizure activity, behavioral changes, and overall health status Administer medications as directed and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Follow seizure response protocols and provide emergency support when necessary Operate medical and assistive equipment safely, including Hoyer lifts and mobility devices if needed Prepare meals according to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and clean environment Document all care activities thoroughly in EMR/EHR systems and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members Provide companionship, emotional support, and encouragement to promote quality of life and independence
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or direct support settings preferred Knowledge of seizure disorders, neurological conditions, or medically fragile care strongly preferred Experience with ADLs, medication reminders/assistance, and patient observation Ability to recognize changes in condition and respond appropriately in emergency situations Familiarity with EMR/EHR documentation systems CPR certification preferred Excellent communication, patience, reliability, and compassion
Pay:
$16.00 per hour
