Job Description
Position Overview Impact Health Solutions is seeking a reliable and compassionate male Personal Care Aide to provide in-home personal care services to a male pediatric client with special needs. Due to the intimate nature of care provided and the client's documented medical and behavioral needs, this position requires a male caregiver per BFOQ guidelines.
Schedule Tuesday, Thursday, Friday:
11am- 6pm (7 hrs)
Monday, Wednesday:
12pm- 3pm (3 hrs) Duties Include Bathing and personal hygiene assistance Toileting and incontinence care Dressing and undressing assistance Meal setup and feeding monitoring Light housekeeping (bedroom, living areas) Linen changes and bed making Mobility and transfer assistance Safety supervision and fall precautions Medication reminders (self-administered with prompting) Following written nursing care plan Requirements Must be male (BFOQ — intimate personal care for male client with documented same-gender care request) Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or special needs strongly preferred Ability to follow a structured care plan and maintain routine Patient, calm, and dependable demeanor CNA certification preferred but not required; PCA experience accepted Must pass background check
Duties:
- Provide assistance with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment.
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel. (CNAs)
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Document client care activities and observations accurately and timely.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations to ensure client privacy and confidentiality.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of catheter care, memory care, and medication administration is a plus.
- Familiarity with assisted living facilities and their systems is beneficial.
- Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility needs.
