Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for Day Support services, working Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. In this vital role, you will work with developmental disabilities and autism to lead fulfilling, independent lives by providing compassionate, personalized support. Your energy and enthusiasm will help create a positive environment where clients feel valued, safe, and motivated to achieve their goals. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the community while developing your skills in caregiving, behavioral health, and social support. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence. Support clients in engaging with community activities, outings, and recreational events to foster social integration. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual's needs, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques. Collect and document data related to client progress, behaviors, and service outcomes accurately and consistently. Administer medications as directed following proper protocols and documentation procedures. Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language if applicable, to facilitate understanding and interaction with clients. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines and reporting any concerns or incidents promptly. Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism in home or community settings. Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Ability to assist with ADLs and provide caregiving support with patience and compassion. Familiarity with data collection methods related to client progress or behavioral observations. Valid driver's license and safe driving record for transportation duties when necessary. Understanding of medication administration protocols and documentation requirements.
