Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal well-being. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings. Your energetic approach will help promote independence, safety, and comfort for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while working in a supportive environment committed to enhancing quality of life. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs and preferences Support medication administration according to care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes and incident reports Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being, especially for those with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments Strong patient observation skills with the ability to detect changes in condition or behavior Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice support practices Ability to assist with complex mobility needs using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques Familiarity with medication administration, care plans, and patient monitoring protocols Excellent communication skills for working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities such as autism or intellectual disabilities CPR and First Aid certification; ability to respond effectively during emergencies Experience supporting geriatrics and providing long-term care in community or home settings Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling procedures Compassionate caregiving attitude combined with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism
Pay:
$14.00 - $15.00 per hour
