Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Day Program A Caring Heart Case Management, Inc. - Wilmington, NC Are you compassionate, reliable, and ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others? This role focuses on providing support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a structured daytime setting. Program:
Adult Day Program (Community & Life Skills Focus) Key Responsibilities Provide direct care, supervision, and habilitative support in a day program setting Assist with daily living skills and personal care as needed Lead and support structured activities that promote independence and social development Facilitate community outings and recreational activities Follow individualized care plans and document services accurately Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all participants Collaborate with team members and support staff to ensure quality care Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Dependable, professional, and committed to quality care Ability to assist individuals who may use wheelchairs Willingness to provide personal care if needed Strong communication skills and patience Preferred Experience Experience working with adults with IDD Background as a CNA, PCA, caregiver, or similar role Experience in day programs, community support, or life skills training The Qualities We Value Patience and emotional maturity Reliability and strong work ethic Ability to engage and motivate individuals Passion for supporting people with developmental disabilities Why Join A Caring Heart Case Management? Training Requirements:
This position requires successful completion of four paid training days (including Onboarding, in-person CPR/First Aid or Safety Care sessions, and one at-home Relias module). Training days may not be consecutive, and travel up to one hour may be required depending on the location. Compensation is provided if travel is required and attendance is confirmed. All training must be completed prior to starting your official schedule. Are you able to meet these training requirements? Are you comfortable assisting individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) after receiving training? These tasks may include but are not limited to: Personal Care, Mobility Support, Meal Preparation & Feeding, Toileting & Continence Care, and/or Household Tasks. Would you be comfortable performing these essential duties as part of your role?
