Job Description

About us Dakota Foot & Ankle Clinic is a small (one physician) clinic. Dr. Gale is a foot & ankle specialist (Podiatrist). He has been practicing in Bismarck, ND since 1992, and has a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine license. Our practice is open from 8:30-5:00 Monday-Friday. We travel to Beulah, Linton, and Wishek, as well as a couple local nursing homes on rotating schedules. Dr. Gale performs surgery at a local hospital. He also performs many procedures in the clinic under local anesthesia such as minor hammertoe correction, Diabetic wound care, ingrown nail removal and others. The clinic is closed for major holidays and on weekends. We travel to satellite clinics two days each month, in a company vehicle. We leave earlier than 8:30 AM and typically we get back earlier than 5:00 PM.
Job Responsibilities:
Greeting patients first in the room, confirming demographics Taking vitals Assisting patients as needed Learning medical terminology related to foot and ankle treatment Assisting the doctor while in the exam room, taking notes, ensuring his medical items are organized and prepped, assisting with wound care (bandaging) Cleaning/sanitizing rooms and tools after a patient has been seen Assisting with nail debridement Sending/tracking scans for custom orthotics or ankle foot orthotics Sending prescriptions to the pharmacy, per the doctor's request Measuring for compression socks Casting for Night Splints Ordering Durable Medical Equipment Sending referrals for medical procedures Follow up calls and letters to patients Benefits include PTO, Holiday pay, retirement, bonuses, and discounts on shoes for employees and their immediate family. We do not have a group medical plan due to the small number of employees. (Probation for three months before benefits begin.) CNA license or Nursing Assistant certificate preferred.
