In this vital role, you will empower residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your dedication will help foster a nurturing environment where each individual feels valued, respected, and supported in their daily lives. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safe and accurate patient care Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary restrictions and assist residents during meal times to promote independence Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties within the resident's living space and common areas Support residents in engaging with community activities, social events, and recreational programs to enhance their quality of life Follow detailed care plans tailored to each individual's needs, including specialized dementia or Alzheimer's care and memory support strategies Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and CPR/First Aid certification is essential Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, hospice care or working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment Strong communication skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving; ability to work effectively within a team setting Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends or holidays as needed Join us as a Direct Support Professional and become a vital part of a dedicated team committed to enriching lives through compassionate caregiving.
