Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Share Living Professional (SLP), where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to lead meaningful, independent lives. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will provide personalized support in home and community settings, fostering growth, safety, and well-being. Your compassionate approach will help individuals thrive by assisting with daily activities, implementing behavior management strategies, and promoting social engagement. Duties Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, ensuring their safety and comfort in home and community environments Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and mobility support Implement behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors Support individuals in developing life skills through structured activities, social interactions, and skill-building exercises Collect data on progress and behavior patterns to inform care plans and communicate updates to team members Facilitate transportation for appointments or community outings by driving safely and responsibly Document all interactions, support activities, and incidents accurately to ensure compliance with agency policies and regulations Skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs Strong understanding of special education principles and behavior management strategies Proficiency in communication skills including American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus Knowledge of home & community care practices and assisting with ADLs effectively Ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and professionalism Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate listening and social work techniques Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for transportation duties Experience in data collection, medication administration, or child care is advantageous Strong interpersonal skills to foster trusting relationships with individuals and their families This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to make a difference in the lives of others while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health, social work, special education, or caregiving fields.
