Job Description

Job Summary :
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides individualized support, care, and advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs assist individuals in leading self-directed lives, promoting independence, safety, dignity, and community inclusion. This role involves providing emotional support, skill-building, and assistance with daily living activities according to each person's goals and service plans. All employees must follow and uphold our Mission, Vision, Values, Behavioral Standards, Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and Compliance Plan.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assist individuals with daily living tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and medication administration as needed. Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills, including communication, social, and household skills. Provide person-centered care that respects each individual's choices, rights, and goals. Encourage and assist individuals in participating in community activities, employment, education, recreation, and social events. Promote inclusion and support individuals in accessing public resources and transportation. Follow all health protocols, emergency procedures, and individualized healthcare plans. Monitor and document changes in behavior, health, or environment and communicate concerns promptly. Accurately complete daily documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and any required charts. Adhere to agency policies, state regulations, confidentiality requirements, and ethical standards. Maintains client confidentiality and adheres to HIPPA requirements.
Required Skills/Abilities :
Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients. Basic understanding of medical terminology.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
