In this vital role, you will empower individuals to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your dedication will help foster a positive environment where clients feel valued, respected, and supported in achieving their personal goals. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through hands-on caregiving and personalized assistance. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature; observe for any changes in condition or behavior Administer medications following proper protocols and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Support residents with meal preparation, cooking, and feeding to ensure nutritional needs are met safely Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assistive devices to facilitate safe transfers and mobility Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning common areas and personal spaces Follow individualized care plans designed by healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality care tailored to each person's needs Document patient progress, observations, and incidents accurately while respecting privacy standards like HIPAA Provide emotional support through active listening, companionship, and engaging activities that promote mental well-being Collaborate with team members, family members, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive care Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living environments Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient monitoring techniques Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, and documentation standards in healthcare settings Ability to perform CPR and First Aid confidently in emergency situations Strong understanding of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and autism support strategies Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's lifts Excellent patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior promptly Compassionate caregiving attitude combined with patience and active listening skills Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced environments Basic cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living space for residents or clients Join us if you're passionate about making a positive impact through direct support!
