Direct Support Professional Extended Families of Nebraska - 4.1 Omaha, NE Job Details Full-time $16 - $17 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Computer operation Computer literacy First aid High school diploma or GED Driver's License Computer skills Full Job Description Extended Families of Nebraska (EFN) is looking for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our Omaha team! The position follows a Monday-Friday schedule, with shifts typically falling between 8:00-8:30 AM and 4:00-4:30 PM. Exact hours will be discussed during the interview process. EFN's Direct Support Professionals work with adults (and children during the summer) who are experiencing intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The mission of EFN is to provide the people we support with the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives, utilizing the most natural settings possible, to achieve their maximum potential which promotes their development and success in the community. Our motto is " Focusing on Abilities not Disabilities ." We work (and have fun) with our clientele by providing assistance in multiple areas in a clean, friendly, and safe environment. Those who attend have the choice to engage in preferred activities and access the community throughout the day. Community outings are coordinated frequently such as bowling, geocaching, volunteer opportunities, and many other seasonal events. We are always open to and seeking out new experiences our participants may be interested in whenever possible. We believe in giving the people we serve the opportunity to make choices for themselves, so they live a fulfilling, meaningful, and happy life. We will expect, foster, and promote an attitude of dignity and respect toward the people we serve, amongst our staff, subcontracted providers, and other individuals involved in our customer's lives. Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations:
Provide services in a manner that respects the dignity and rights of the individual and protects the rights of the individual and that the individual is free from abuse, neglect, and exploitation Ensure all medical needs, doctors' orders, non-complex procedures, etc. are being followed in cooperation with day and/or residential entity or other EFN staff Maintain a clean, safe, and suitable environment related to the needs of the person supported Assist residential entity in teaching and encouraging well-balanced meals, especially regarding modified diets Provide safe and reliable transportation that meets individual needs Maintain documentation as required by EFN to ensure the individuals needs are being met as agreed upon by the team and reimbursement for the service Responsible for working with EFN to develop, improve, or maintain skills to maximize inclusion Implement all elements of the Individual Support Plan (ISP) relating to their position in EFN Ensure that all services stated in the ISP are provided according to the needs of the individual Provide feedback to their supervisor regarding progress and barriers with the implementation of the ISP All other duties assigned by supervisorsRequirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Be at least 18 years of age Possess a valid driver's license and automobile insurance Possess CPR and First Aid certification, Medication Aide certification, and Mandt certification (Preferred) Have basic computer and technology skills relevant to the support of individuals served Pass a criminal background check and Adult/Child Protective Services Central Registry checkSimilar jobs in Omaha, NE
