In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized support to help individuals achieve greater independence, develop essential life skills, and participate actively in their communities. Your energy, empathy, and proactive approach will foster a safe, nurturing environment where clients can thrive. This paid position offers an opportunity to build rewarding relationships while gaining valuable experience in behavioral health, caregiving, and community-based support. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and nutrition. Support behavioral health needs through positive behavior management strategies and individualized care plans. Facilitate communication using various methods such as verbal cues or American Sign Language to ensure understanding and engagement. Drive clients to appointments, community outings, or recreational activities safely and responsibly. Collect data on client progress and document observations accurately to inform ongoing care strategies. Administer medications as prescribed following proper protocols and documentation procedures. Provide emotional support and companionship to promote social interaction, self-esteem, and independence. Collaborate with families, social workers, educators, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans effectively. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices enhances your ability to support clients effectively. Experience in home and community care settings demonstrates your adaptability and commitment to client well-being. Strong communication skills are essential for engaging clients, documenting progress, and working collaboratively with team members. Familiarity with assisting with ADLs, medication administration, data collection, and behavior management techniques is advantageous. Valid driver's license and safe driving record are required for transporting clients when necessary. Background in social work or caregiving roles provides a solid foundation for understanding client needs and delivering compassionate support.
