Job Description
Overview aJoin our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), where your compassionate care and active support make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance, promote independence, and ensure safety in various settings such as group homes, in family homes, or out in the community. Your energy and commitment will foster a positive atmosphere that empowers those you serve to thrive and achieve their goals. Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident's Support medication administration and care plans under supervision to ensure proper treatment and safety Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist with cooking and meal planning to promote healthy living Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed Engage residents in social activities and community outings to foster socialization and mental well-being Document care activities meticulously, including patient observations, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with healthcare regulations Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Certification in First Aid and CPR is required, Medication Aide, Car insurance Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy lifting or using Hoyer lifts Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in condition or behavior Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals Valid driver's license may be required for community outings or transportation duties Join us if you're passionate about providing compassionate support that enhances quality of life!
