Job Description
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Assist participants with daily activities
- Administer medications according to prescribed dosages and schedules
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and prevent challenging behaviors
- Ensure the rights and dignity of participants are respected at all times
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents
- Document resident progress, behaviors, and incidents according to agency policies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, Coordinators, and therapists
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks such as transferring residents from beds to wheelchairs
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and protocols
- Familiarity with resident rights and regulations related to the care of individuals with disabilities
- Experience in behavior management techniques preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
