Job Description

Duties:
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Assist participants with daily activities
  • Administer medications according to prescribed dosages and schedules
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and prevent challenging behaviors
  • Ensure the rights and dignity of participants are respected at all times
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents
  • Document resident progress, behaviors, and incidents according to agency policies
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses, Coordinators, and therapists
Qualifications:
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks such as transferring residents from beds to wheelchairs
  • Knowledge of medication administration procedures and protocols
  • Familiarity with resident rights and regulations related to the care of individuals with disabilities
  • Experience in behavior management techniques preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
