FirstLight Home Care of Metuchen and Clark is a private-duty home care agency serving families in the Union and Middlesex County, NJ area. We provide Personal Care and Companion Care services to seniors, adults with disabilities, people recovering from injury or illness, or busy families in need of additional support.

Role Overview:

FirstLight Home Care is seeking caregivers to fill multiple weekday shifts, ranging from 4-6 hours. This opportunity is perfect for established CHHAs looking to pick up additional shifts during the week. You'll work closely with family members and our support staff to ensure each client receives the personalized care they need to enjoy a quality life. Our service area includes Rahway, Clark, Woodbridge, Metuchen, and Edison.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide essential personal care and companionship to clients in their homes. Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, meal preparation, and medication reminders. Monitor clients' conditions and report any changes to the appropriate personnel. Foster a positive and nurturing relationship with clients to enhance their emotional well-being. Ensure that all care provided aligns with individual client care plans and preferences.

Qualifications:

You're a great fit if you have the following skills. Certification as a New Jersey Licensed Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an emphasis on empathy and compassion. Ability to handle sensitive situations with integrity and professionalism. Dependability and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Strong competencies supporting all activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs); these include assistance with bathing, toileting, getting dressed, light housekeeping, basic meal prep, and companionship. Basic command of English language is required.

Bonus If You:

Have experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities. Possess additional certifications related to home health care or first aid. Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.

Compensation:

Pay range for this role is $19-21/hr ; exact rate will be determined based on skill/experience. $Pay range for this role is

Employment Type & Availability:

This is a Part-Time position, available Monday through Friday. Exact hours will depend upon shift availability and caregiver-client fit.

Location:

This role will serve clients in their homes in the Clark, Rahway, Woodbridge, and Metuchen areas. Hired candidates must be able to commute reliably to these towns.
