Looking for a kind and compassionate patient employee for a fun young adult who has a love for parks, bowling, theater, horse riding, skating, and car rides. You will be asked to assist him in this and go with him to volunteer, some assistance with daily living, and going to the community. Employees must be willing to be outside or in the community in all types of weather. Training will be provided, but experience working with people with Autism will be beneficial. The individual is a nonspeaker and types for talking. He needs supervision and sometimes hand-our hand help for some daily living activities. Communication training will be provided by the family.

Responsibilities:

• The Day Support Professional will provide client education and training to acquire the skills and experience needed to participate in the community, consistent with each client's service plan. This may include activities to support clients with building problem-solving skills, self-help, social skills, adaptive skills, daily living skills, and leisure skills.
• Understand and implement behavioral treatment plans, as needed.
• Assist in the development of the weekly activity schedules and community-based activities, based on individual preferences and needs
• Following the ADL skills he enjoys skating, bowling,cycling walks and going for shopping at wegmans, Dollar tree and some local stores.
• He enjoys making popcorn too
• Assist the Student, as a Non-Verbal Adult with Autism, as a Communication Facilitator, utilizing the Student's Primary Modes of Communication;Ipad, a Letterboard (Rapid Prompting Method) &/or Communication Software, to allow for his active participation in the scheduled activity, while communicating to the maximum extent possible with all Instructors, Students, Employers & Peers.

Qualification Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• Driver's License and reliable vehicle for transportation
• One (1) year of experience working with Autism .

Hours:

Weekdays (after 3:00 pm) & Weekends (flexible or what hours?)

• Flexible schedule for the right candidate.
• 14-20 hrs per week, after 4:00 pm on weekdays including any time on Sundays.
• Part of the hiring process will include a background check and drug screening.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for transportation. Compensation
• During the initial training the rate is $20/hr and will be increased to $25 per hour after 3 months.

Additional increases will be available after 9 months.
