Job Description

Elizabeth, NJ | Monday to Friday, 4:00 to 7:30 PM | $22/hour | Part-time About the role We provide compassionate in-home support across New Jersey. We are hiring a Direct Support Professional to support an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in their home during weekday evenings.
The hours are fixed:
Monday to Friday, 4:00 to 7:30 PM. Driving is part of this role. If the evening hours or the driving do not work for you, this is not the right fit. If they do, this is steady, ongoing part-time work close to home. Who you will support You will be the one-on-one evening support partner for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them stay safe, engaged, and comfortable at home and in the community. The right person is patient, dependable, observant, and treats the individual with dignity and respect. What you will do Provide one-on-one in-home support during the evening shift Assist with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility or transfers Offer companionship, engagement, and supervision Prepare meals and help with feeding Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and community outings Handle light housekeeping related to the individual's care Provide medication reminders Notice and report any changes in the individual's condition to the family and the Loving Hands team What we are looking for Required Experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) Valid driver's license and a good driving record Comfortable driving and transporting the individual Comfortable assisting with personal care (bathing, dressing, transfers) Available every weekday, 4:00 to 7:30 PM (this is a firm window) At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States Willing to complete a background check and fingerprinting Dependable, punctual, and genuinely caring Preferred Current CPR and First Aid certification CHHA, CNA, or formal DSP training (a plus, not required) Compensation and conditions $22/hour Part-time, about 15 to 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday evenings Consistent, predictable schedule Local role, work close to home Background check, fingerprinting, and any state clearance required for in-home support roles will be initiated at the appropriate stage
