Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Job Overview Work as a Direct Support Professional with a client in Bergen County Part Time. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate care and support to help them achieve their personal goals. and maintain their dignity. This position requires a commitment to fostering independence and ensuring the well-being of those you serve. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living skills, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Implement Individual Support Plan tailored to the individual needs, ensuring adherence to resident rights and privacy regulations (HIPAA), Community Participation Teaching skills of making and attending doctor appointments, and helping them to navigate the health system Provide emotional support and companionship, encouraging social interaction and participation in community activities. Document daily activities, progress notes, and any incidents in accordance with organizational policies. Requirements Experience working with a person with a disability. Must take a drug and background check. A minimum age of 18 years old High School Diploma Have a valid driver's license in good standing (not to exceed 5 points). Individual Support Plan and the ability to follow them accurately. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others. Complete all mandated training. Must have a car and be willing to transport as needed This role is essential for providing quality support to individuals in need, making it both rewarding and impactful.
