In this vital role, you will empower residents to achieve their highest level of independence while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Your dedication will foster a positive environment where residents feel valued, respected, and supported every day. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings in accordance with HIPAA regulations Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices Support residents with medication administration following care plans and safety protocols Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties in resident rooms and common areas Document care activities accurately in resident records and update care plans as needed Respond promptly to emergency situations, including administering CPR or first aid when required Use effective patient observation techniques to identify potential health concerns or behavioral changes early Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community outings using appropriate safety measures Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training highly desirable Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer's disease or dementia preferred Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for resident support and mobility assistance Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a caregiving team Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends or overnight shifts as needed Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and be part of a rewarding journey helping individuals live healthier, happier lives.
