Live-In Household & Care Assistant Las Vegas, NV 89141 $50,000 a year
  • Full-time $50,000 a year
  • Full-time Position Summary We are a small, private, middle-class family seeking a second full-time live-in person to join our existing Live-in Household & Care Assistant.
Together, you will support our home and our 17-year-old son, who has developmental delays (cognitive level roughly 2-5 years old), daily seizures, and minimal verbal ability. A significant part of this role is cooking and cleaning. We cook entirely from scratch using organic, traditional methods for three meals a day. We keep a clean, orderly home. This is important for us, and we need someone who genuinely enjoys this work. This is not a job for someone seeking a career ladder as a therapist or private chef. It is for someone who just personally enjoys these everyday activities and wants to provide them long term in the environment of a quiet family home that is boundary-conscious, and with predictable routines, genuine off-hours, and interesting travel opportunities. Location & Travel Primary residences: Las Vegas, NV (spring/fall) and Appleton, WI (summer/winter) Extended stays: typically France, Mexico, and rotationally elsewhere You will have your own space in every setting
  • a private bedroom in each of our homes, and we'll ensure you always have a place to retreat while traveling All travel expenses are paid Schedule & Compensation $50,000/year (not based on experience) Paid twice monthly via direct deposit Full-time hours Live-in
  • no rent, no utilities Two organic meals per day on work days (brunch + dinner) Vehicle use for job tasks (grocery shopping, errands). Personal access may also be possible
  • we can discuss Clear schedules with protected off-hours.
When you are off the clock, we respect your time and privacy Paid vacation time (scheduled in coordination with the family and other staff) What You'll Do You will split the workload with our other live-in staff based on your respective strengths. Our current staff is great at care, flexible about cleaning, and basic with cooking. We are looking for someone who is more comfortable with and truly enjoys cooking, cleaning, and keeping an orderly home. Cooking & Household (a major part of the role): Plan and prepare meals following our recipes and guidelines Clean, organize, do laundry, keep things tidy Run errands (grocery shopping, package returns, etc.) Help maintain a calm, well-run home across all locations Care Support (share of duties varies): Help our son with daily routines (bathing, dressing, eating, toileting) Engage in play-style therapy
  • reading, drawing, music, games, pretend play, being genuinely warm and fun Provide supervision and safety support (he has fall risk and requires someone attentive) Overnight care
  • our son has seizures during the night or may be awake for long stretches.
Sometimes he sleeps straight through but approx. 70% of the nights require some amount of care. Overnight shifts are shared among the live-in staff, local staff, and parents. Some weeks you may do 1 overnight, others weeks up to 3. Flexibility is essential. Daytime work is adjusted following overnight work.
Training:
We provide full training in all care methods, including seizure response and our specific therapy approaches No prior medical or therapy credentials are needed or desired You will complete our paid training program (videos, reading, hands-on coaching)
Medical & Safety Requirements:
You must be willing to use only non-toxic, fragrance-free personal care products (soap, lotion, deodorant, laundry detergent, etc.) During caregiving shifts, your phone must be stored away from you (not on your person). Overnight, we turn off Wi-Fi and RF devices to reduce seizure triggers Who Would Be a Great Fit We are looking for someone who: Is reliable, punctual, low-drama, and takes this seriously as a job Has basic cooking skills (can follow a recipe and have things turn out well) and has helped care for someone before (child, grandparent, sibling, etc.) Genuinely enjoys cooking, cleaning, and creating order Genuinely enjoys playing with and supporting a person with developmental differences Is comfortable being independent during off-hours (reading, hobbies, virtual social time
  • not needing significant in-person interaction) Has no responsibilities or major commitments that would make long-term travel difficult Can handle some nighttime work in the mix Values privacy, boundaries, and overall professionalism Backgrounds that often work well: people who had real responsibilities growing up (older sibling in a large family, farm kid, homeschooled, etc.)
  • but this is not a requirement.
