Schedule is Monday - Friday, first shift. Direct Support Professionals in our Group Day Habilitation program work within our program locations and out in the community with adults, providing them support with daily living activities and sharing in their interests and hobbies; while modeling, teaching, and advocating for them to achieve their highest level of independent living to enable their fullest participation in society. Paid training is provided. We have part time or per diem positions.
Responsibilities include:
Providing support by demonstrating respect and teaching daily problem-solving skills. Providing transportation to community events and activities in company owned vehicles. Providing support to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with their peers, with their families and within their community. Always ensuring the proper supervision and safety of program participants. Completing service documentation in an electronic medical record (EMR) system in accordance with all applicable state and federal rules and regulations.

Education and Experience:
H.S. Diploma/GED OR the successful completion of our internal assessment of reading/writing abilities. 6 months experience in customer service or other person-centered interactive position. Valid NYS Driver License with acceptable driving record.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Positive attitude with motivation to provide interactive and compassionate experience to those in our programs. Must be able to read and write case notes and be able to follow written directions. Must be able to manage multiple assigned tasks at one time and meet assigned deadlines. Must have basic computer knowledge.
Certifications:
Within 120 days of employment, must become CPR, First Aid, CORE SCIP-R certified.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds. Seeing, hearing, walking, sitting, standing, driving, stooping, bending, carrying, stretching, and climbing stairs as well as all movements required by SCIP-R curriculum.
