Queens Surgical Center is NYC's premier ambulatory surgery center (ASC), providing high-quality healthcare services and facilities to the patients, physicians and communities in our network. We specialize in short-stay surgery, and our staff are trained to provide exceptional short-stay care. We pride ourselves on following the strictest patient safety guidelines. Our fully equipped state-of-the art surgery center provides a safe, warm and supportive environment for patients to receive the highest standards of outpatient surgical care for a variety of needs. Position Summary The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) supports the surgical and nursing teams by providing patient transport services throughout the ambulatory surgery center and maintaining a clean and safe environment during operational hours. This role is essential for ensuring efficient patient flow and infection control during surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities Safely transport patients between preoperative, operative, and recovery areas within the ambulatory surgery center. Assist nursing staff with patient positioning, ambulation, and transfers to ensure patient comfort and safety. Perform cleaning and turnover of operating and procedure rooms during operating hours to maintain a sterile and organized environment aligned with infection control protocols. Support surgical teams by stocking supplies and maintaining cleanliness in perioperative and patient care areas. Monitor equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to appropriate staff. Follow all safety policies and procedures including hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Adhere to privacy and confidentiality standards (HIPAA) in all patient interactions. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience in a healthcare or ambulatory surgery setting preferred. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred. Ability to safely lift and transfer patients. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently without disrupting surgical operations.

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
