Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and engaging Senior Companions to provide non-medical support and meaningful companionship to seniors and other adults in their homes. Our goal is to help clients maintain independence, reduce loneliness, and enjoy a higher quality of life through friendship, conversation, and light assistance with daily routines. This role is strictly non-medical — no medical tasks are permitted. Responsibilities Provide companionship and emotional support through friendly conversation, active listening, and shared activities to combat isolation and promote mental well-being. Engage clients in recreational and social activities, such as reading aloud, playing games (cards, puzzles, board games), reminiscing, watching favorite shows, or pursuing hobbies/interests. Assist with meal preparation (simple, nutritious meals/snacks), serving meals, and cleanup related to meals (no complex cooking or feeding required). Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe, comfortable environment (e.g., dusting, vacuuming/sweeping small areas, washing dishes, tidying living spaces, changing linen, laundry). Run errands such as grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, or mailing items. Provide transportation to appointments, social outings, or errands (using a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement — valid driver's license and clean record required). Offer medication reminders only (no administration, handling, or decision-making about meds). Monitor client safety and well-being during visits; report any changes in condition, concerns, or incidents immediately to supervisor (e.g., falls, confusion, health changes). Maintain confidentiality of client information and respect client dignity, privacy, and preferences at all times. Follow individualized client service plans and document activities/visits accurately (e.g., via app or log). Assist with intake and office procedures as requested. Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor. Attend required orientation, ongoing training, and team meetings.
