Job Description

Overview Personal Care Assistants (CDpac - Consumer Directed) for 30 yr old male with intellectual disability & autism in his home. 25 hours per week & 10 hours per week. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including shower, dressing, grooming, laundry, housekeeping, and community support. Be aware of individual's strengths and challenges. May be called on to assist individual with medication administration, following medical documentation protocols and home healthcare regulations Support clients with specialized needs: developmental disabilities Assist with positional support for sleep apnea. Perform housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, organizing, and maintaining a safe environment Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement. Experience Prior experience working in with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities is useful, though not required as in home training/guidance by parent will be provided, as well as by the financial institution (FI). Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities in a caregiving capacity Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and background in developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of home & community care regulations to ensure compliance during service delivery. Proven track record of caregiving in-home employment settings or long-term care environments is a plus. References required. This position is best suited for a caring person who is motivated to help an individual with intellectual disability to live in his home with his family in the community. Compassion and understanding are necessary qualities. Openness to learning about developmental disabilities and person-centered training are required.
