Community Habilitation (DSP) for Man with Visual Impairment Latham, NY [RA]

SEEKING COMHAB WORKER FOR SATURDAY DAY SHIFT

I'm a 27-year-old man who is blind. I direct my own services. I am sociable, independent, and love to meet new people. I'm looking for a DSP (Direct Service Provider) to assist me with my activities of daily living. The job is less about direct care, and more about finding an assistant who can help me navigate the community and build my independence. This is a 1-on-1 position paid at $24/hr. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assistance in the home and out in the community.
• Transportation to activities, special events, and appointments.
• Assisting with or providing household responsibilities to include, but not limited to: meal preparation and cooking, cleaning, grocery & supply shopping, etc.
• Ensure my safety at home and in the community.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED is required. Valid NYS driver's license and personal transportation is required.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment and complete necessary documentation.
