Job Description

Metro Children Services is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide one-on-one support to children and adolescents in home and community settings through our Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) program. This is a flexible, case-based position, with assignments based on each child's needs, including age, location, schedule, and level of support. Service Types Respite ($20/hour) Provide structured supervision and support to children with developmental, physical, or behavioral needs while offering relief to caregivers. CFASS
  • Caregiver/Family Advocacy and Support Services Support children and families by building skills, providing advocacy, and helping them navigate services and community resources. Level 1 ($25/hour)
  • High school diploma + relevant experience Level 2 ($30/hour)
  • Bachelor's degree + 2 years relevant experience Responsibilities Direct Care & Support Provide one-on-one support to children and adolescents Follow individualized service plans Support development of social, emotional, and behavioral skills Assist with daily routines and structured activities Engagement & Community Activities Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities Support clients in community and recreational settings Encourage independence and positive behaviors Family Support & Advocacy (CFASS) Help families understand and access services and resources Support caregivers in building advocacy, problem-solving, and goal-setting skills Act as a liaison between families and providers Documentation & Communication Complete session notes for every session in a timely manner Communicate regularly with supervisors and care team members Report progress, concerns, and outcomes Qualifications Respite High school diploma or GED required Experience working with children preferred (especially with special needs) CFASS Level 1 High school diploma or GED Experience working with children or in human services CFASS Level 2 Bachelor's degree required Minimum 2 years of relevant experience Ideal Candidate Reliable, patient, and compassionate Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable working independently in home and community settings Interest in psychology, social work, education, or human services Why Join Metro Children Services Flexible scheduling Meaningful, one-on-one work Valuable experience in behavioral health and child development Supportive team environment
