Job Description

A community services organization serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Kingston, NY. This role provides person-centered support to help individuals build independence, maintain safety and wellness, and participate in their communities.  About the

Overnight and day/evening shifts
Schedule:
Friday through Sunday; Saturday through
Sunday Hours:
9:00 PM
  • 7:00 AM; 7:00 AM
  • 3:00 PM; 2:00 PM
  • 10:00
PM Setting:
In-person Responsibilities:
Support individuals in achieving personal goals and building community connections Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, mobility, meal preparation, and medication administration Implement behavior support plans and crisis intervention techniques as needed Document services accurately and maintain compliance with applicable regulations Collaborate with clinical and support teams to ensure high-quality, person-centered care
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent 2 to 4 years of experience in the human services field or a related area Ability to assist with activities of daily living and meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting, standing, and supporting individuals Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment Basic computer proficiency
Desired Skills:
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Familiarity with behavior support plans and crisis intervention techniques Exposure to documentation and regulatory compliance in a care setting SCIP-R, AMAP, or CPR certification
