Job Description

Title:
Direct Support Professional Reports to:
Kimberly Greenfield, Director of Disability and Inclusion Services Classification:
Non-Exempt Summary:
Friedberg JCC seeks experienced part time direct support professionals to work with young adults with disabilities in a community class setting.
Essential Functions:
  • Support clients/students with class activities and projects
  • Assist class instructor with assigned tasks
  • Help with student/client transitions, redirection to tasks in classes, and skills of daily living
  • Maintain the health and safety of clients/students served through competent supervision
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
5- 10 hours per week, including hours on
Sundays Required Education and Experience:
  • At least 2 years of experience working with young adults with disabilities in a community or school setting or other equivalent experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to support clients/students with disabilities in a community class setting
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques
  • Help foster positive relationships between peers
  • Ensures participant safety and helps maintain clients/students engagement
  • Ensures client/student safety and maintains a safe environment
  • Position requires at times physical movement such as walking, bending, and reaching; attention to details, and completion of documentation/recall of events (student/client attendance, incident reports, health/wellness checks, etc.
).
Pay rate:
$18-22 per hour, commensurate with experience
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
