Job Description

At Vanderheyden, our caring and professional staff works hard to provide individuals with the skills necessary to enhance self-esteem and self-confidence, and to engage in experiences that lead to personal growth and to live health and productive lives. We have openings in Schodack, Averill Park, Glens Falls, Rensselaer, Troy, and East Greenbush. Vanderheyden is currently seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for full-time or Part-Time, Days, Evenings and Overnights in our Community Services programs. The DSP is responsible for maintaining an environment of care that is safe & therapeutic, providing direct care to individuals per agency policy, implementing appropriate supervision according to daily schedules, dispensing medication per agency policy, assisting with hygiene including showering, preparing food in accordance with dietary plans and safely transporting individuals as assigned per level of supervision required.
Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills:
