Job Description

Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Respite & Community Hab Aide, where you will play a vital role in providing compassionate support and care to a 21 year old young woman with developmental disabilities, autism, and other special needs. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in her life by fostering independence, promoting social engagement, and ensuring safety within home and community settings. Your energetic and proactive approach will help create positive experiences and support tailored to her unique needs. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation, promoting independence and dignity. Implement behavior management strategies to support positive behavior and social skills development. Support communication efforts using techniques like American Sign Language or other augmentative communication methods. Facilitate engaging activities that promote social interaction, skill-building, and community participation. Collect data on progress, behaviors, and service delivery to inform care plans and ensure compliance with documentation standards. Administer medications following prescribed protocols when required, ensuring safety and accuracy. Provide transportation assistance by driving clients to appointments, activities, or community outings while maintaining safety protocols. Support families through caregiving tasks and provide respite to primary caregivers by offering reliable companionship and supervision. Maintain detailed records of services provided, client progress, and incidents as part of ongoing documentation efforts. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or related conditions is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education principles, behavioral health practices, and behavior management techniques. Strong communication skills Background in home and community care environments with experience assisting with ADLs and providing direct support. Ability to handle behavioral challenges with patience and effective strategies. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for transportation duties. Experience in caregiving roles such as childcare or social work is advantageous. Competency in data collection, medication administration protocols, and maintaining confidentiality.
