Job Description

Overview Join our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication and caring nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide attentive assistance in a variety of settings, including assisted living facilities, group homes, and home care environments. Your energy and commitment will help promote independence, dignity, and well-being for those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to grow your skills while making a positive impact every day. Duties Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals promptly. Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and sanitation tasks regularly. Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges. Document care activities accurately in compliance with care plans and regulatory standards while respecting patient privacy and confidentiality. Qualifications Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, or group homes is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance training, or relevant nursing assistant credentials are a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining compassion and patience. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams, residents, families, and other caregivers. Experience in medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and developing or following care plans is desirable. A genuine passion for caring for seniors or individuals with disabilities combined with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality of life.
