Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. This role involves supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in healthcare or caregiving, with a passion for improving the quality of life for those they serve. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized care and support. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide patient observation and monitor health status, including vital signs and medication administration. Support residents with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers safely. Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions. Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning and sanitation practices. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other developmental disabilities. Administer medications following HIPAA guidelines and safety protocols. Engage residents in social activities to promote mental well-being and community involvement. Document care activities accurately while respecting privacy and confidentiality standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to ensure comprehensive support. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly desirable. Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance are preferred or required upon hire. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or memory care needs is advantageous. Strong patient observation skills coupled with the ability to monitor vital signs effectively. Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations. Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety protocols. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team dedicated to providing exceptional resident care. This role is vital in creating a supportive environment where residents feel valued, safe, and empowered to live fulfilling lives. Pay:
$14.50 - $15.00 per hour
