Direct Support Professional

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, or age-related needs. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary restrictions and preferences, maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and independence Maintain a safe environment through regular cleaning, sanitation of living spaces, and adherence to infection control protocols such as CPR and first aid procedures Document resident progress, update care plans, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing staff or social workers for comprehensive care Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory support techniques, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and hospice or palliative care practices Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are advantageous Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and patient observation to detect changes in condition or behavior Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, team members, and healthcare professionals Valid experience with medication administration protocols and working within care plans aligned with long-term care standards Join us as a Direct Support Professional where your compassion fuels positive change! $15.00 - $17.50 per hour
