Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide high-quality care during the 3rd shift (9:00 PM - 8:15 AM) . This role involves supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or age-related conditions in a residential or community setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare or caregiving environments, demonstrating patience, attentiveness, and a strong commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by assisting with daily activities, health monitoring, and fostering independence. Duties Provide personal care and support with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance Assist residents with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations Monitor residents' vital signs and observe for any changes in health or behavior Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts and resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties in accordance with health standards Document care activities accurately and report any concerns or incidents to supervisory staff Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and well-being Follow all safety protocols including CPR, First Aid, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with autism or other disabilities Requirements Prior experience in assisted living, home & community care, nursing homes, or long-term care settings preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and patient monitoring procedures Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or aging populations is highly desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for resident transfers or mobility support Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve residents' quality of life Must be able to work the overnight shift from 9:00 PM to 8:15 AM This position is ideal for individuals committed to providing respectful, person-centered care in a supportive environment.
