Direct Support Professional ( Weekend Warrior) Devoted Family Care Services Cleveland, OH Job Details Part-time From $16.50 an hour 23 hours ago Benefits Paid training Mileage reimbursement Flexible schedule Qualifications CPR Certification Passenger vehicle Patient transfer methods Assisting with ADLs High school diploma or GED Driver's License First Aid Certification Direct support Full Job Description The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for providing direct care and supportive services to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral health needs in home and community-based settings. DSPs assist individuals with daily living activities, community integration, personal care, safety supervision, transportation, documentation, and implementation of individualized service plans while promoting independence, dignity, and person-centered care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision to individuals receiving services. Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, meal preparation, and medication reminders/administration as permitted. Support individuals in achieving personal goals outlined in Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and behavior support plans. Promote independence, self-advocacy, and community participation. Transport individuals safely to appointments, activities, employment, day programs, and community outings as assigned. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment. Accurately complete required documentation, daily notes, medication records, incident reports, and electronic visit verification (EVV) requirements in a timely manner. Observe and report changes in behavior, health, or safety concerns to supervisors immediately. Follow all company policies, DODD regulations, Medicaid requirements, HIPAA confidentiality standards, and emergency procedures. Attend mandatory trainings, staff meetings, and continuing education sessions. Work collaboratively with families, guardians, medical professionals, and interdisciplinary teams. Respond appropriately during emergencies and crisis situations. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred/required. Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and any required state certifications. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health needs, or related populations preferred but not required. Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift, transfer, and assist individuals as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist individuals throughout shifts. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle if transportation duties are assigned. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Work Environment DSPs may work in residential homes, community settings, day programs, or other service environments. Schedules may include mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays based on client needs.
