This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide personalized support, foster independence, and promote community engagement for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and other disabilities. As a vital member of our team, you will combine caregiving with driving responsibilities to ensure safe, enriching experiences for those you serve. Your energy, compassion, and proactive approach will help create a vibrant and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. Responsibilities Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, assisting with daily activities and promoting independence. Facilitate community outings, appointments, and recreational activities by safely operating company vehicles. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, meal preparation, and medication administration when necessary. Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language if applicable, to engage with individuals and support their social interactions. Collect and document data related to behavioral health, progress notes, and care plans to ensure accurate record-keeping. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and manage challenging situations compassionately. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and team members to develop individualized support plans that meet each person's unique needs. Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or in special education settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate caregiving and support in home or community environments. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience in driving for work-related activities is essential. Strong communication skills; proficiency in American Sign Language is a plus. Knowledge of behavioral health principles and behavior management techniques. Ability to assist with ADLs and medication administration following proper protocols. Prior experience in home & community care or social work is advantageous. Comfortable collecting data accurately and maintaining detailed documentation.
