Full Job Description Job Purpose:
The Personal Care Assistant is responsible for performing personal care and homemaker services based on a nurse's assessment of the client's needs. This position is also responsible for providing respite and private duty care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting clients with personal hygiene according to the client care plan. Taking and recording vital signs with accuracy. Responding appropriately in an emergency and promptly reporting any unusual occurrences or incidents.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education:
60-hour training or state-tested nursing license
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of in-home care experience, either in private duty or in a facility
Required Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in assisting clients with personal hygiene according to the client care plan Ability to take and record vital signs with accuracy Competence in responding appropriately in emergency situations Capability to promptly report any unusual occurrences or incidents Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and healthcare team members Compassionate and patient demeanor suitable for providing personal care and support Ability to follow directions and work independently within the scope of the care plan
