Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring assistance with daily living activities. This role involves working closely with residents in group homes, assisted living facilities, or home settings to promote independence, safety, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to person-centered care and possess the skills necessary to support individuals with diverse needs, including memory care and autism spectrum disorders. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized caregiving and support. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide patient observation and monitor vital signs as needed Administer medication following care plans and HIPAA regulations Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times Support residents with personal hygiene, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe transfers and assist with mobility challenges Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care Document care activities accurately and report any changes in health or behavior to supervisors Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including CPR and First Aid protocols Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA regulations Collaborate effectively with team members, healthcare professionals, families, and community resources Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health is preferred Knowledge of patient care practices including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already certified Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and patience when working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information Compassionate attitude towards residents' needs for social work, hospice care, or long-term support services This role is vital in providing compassionate resident-centered care that enhances quality of life. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
