Overview:
- We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals with developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and nurturing environment that enables individuals to live independently and reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a group home or assisted living setting.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor patients' conditions and report any concerns to management.
- Support individuals with dementia and other cognitive impairments, using person-centered care approaches.
- Promote independence and self-advocacy among clients, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Encourage and support individuals in their personal growth, including education, social skills, and leisure activities.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or caregiving experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients safely.
- Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle, if applicable.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
