Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. This role involves supporting residents in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with diverse populations in various care settings. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration Implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care if applicable Observe and document patient conditions, behaviors, and progress while maintaining HIPAA compliance Operate patient monitoring equipment and respond promptly to emergencies or changes in condition Assist with mobility using Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices; perform heavy lifting as necessary Maintain a clean and safe environment through routine cleaning and infection control procedures Support residents in community outings or activities to promote social engagement and well-being Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to ensure comprehensive care Experience Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, or group homes is preferred Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, autism spectrum disorders, or other developmental disabilities is advantageous Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Experience with medication administration, patient observation, and vital signs monitoring is desirable Background in social work or long-term care enhances ability to support residents effectively Previous caregiving roles involving home & community care or senior care are highly valued Ability to perform light to heavy lifting safely; familiarity with Hoyer lifts preferred Strong interpersonal skills for working compassionately with residents who have diverse needs This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring dedicated support. Pay:
$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
