Job Description

Job Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing assistance and support to children with developmental disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life. This position involves working closely with clients in a home environments. The DSP is responsible for promoting independence and enhancing the daily living skills of the individuals they support. This job requires a background check. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide personal care while ensuring the dignity and respect of each individual. Monitor and document individuals and their behaviors to ensure proper care. Implement care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences. Assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals. Engage clients in social activities to promote interaction and community involvement. Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning tasks. Observe and report any changes in client behavior or health status to supervisors or healthcare providers. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
Skills :
Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism,and behavior issues. Compassionate caregiving approach with a focus on enhancing client independence.
