Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. We play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. We have openings in the Geneva and Ashtabula area. We have 2nd shift available. Please do not apply unless you can work 2nd shift.
YOU MUST HAVE A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA AND A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
Duties Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. Provide patient observation to monitor the well-being and progress of individuals. Implement individualized care plans tailored to the specific needs of each person. Support individuals in developing social skills and engaging in community activities. Administer first aid and CPR as needed, ensuring the safety of all individuals. Maintain accurate records of care provided, including vital signs and any significant changes in health or behavior. Uphold resident rights by promoting dignity, respect, and independence for each individual. Qualifications Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred. Strong understanding of patient observation techniques and the ability to recognize changes in behavior or health status. Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable but will train. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the individuals supported. Knowledge of resident rights and commitment to advocating for those rights. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on empathy and understanding. Must have a valid drivers license and auto insurance.
