Direct Support Professional

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting them in their daily living activities and promoting their independence. Your commitment to patient care and your ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team will be key in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve. Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide patient monitoring and observation to ensure safety and well-being. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, including medication administration and vital signs monitoring. Support clients in social activities and community engagement to promote inclusion and independence. Maintain cleanliness and organization in living spaces, ensuring a safe environment. Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts as necessary. Engage in effective communication with clients, families, and healthcare professionals while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients. Requirements Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes is preferred. Familiarity with caregiving practices for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's care, dementia care, or autism is highly desirable. Certification in First Aid and CPR is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client mobility assistance. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes in condition. Knowledge of home health care practices and experience in hospice care or long-term care settings is beneficial. Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving. Ability to work effectively within a team while also being self-motivated when working independently.
