Job Description
Shift Saturday to Wednesday 8:30 am to 1:00 pm Job Summary The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a crucial role in providing assistance and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. This position is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for clients by promoting independence, dignity, and personal growth. The DSP will work closely with clients in various settings, including home health care, group homes, and nursing facilities, ensuring that their physical, emotional, and social needs are met. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's specific needs and preferences. Monitor and document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with health protocols. Support clients in engaging in recreational activities and community involvement. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following hygiene and safety standards. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and address any concerns. Skills Experience in home health care, nursing homes, or group home settings is preferred. Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to patient care. Knowledge of CPR techniques and emergency response protocols. Ability to cook nutritious meals that cater to dietary restrictions or preferences. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Patience and empathy when working with individuals facing challenges. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
