Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This position involves providing compassionate care and support in various settings, including home and community environments. The DSP is responsible for assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being as outlined by their individualized care plans. •Seeking qualified candidates to work 7 on 7 off schedule•Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide medication administration as prescribed and ensure clients adhere to their medication schedules. Support clients in engaging with their community through social activities and outings. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including cooking nutritious meals as needed. Document client progress and any changes in behavior or health status accurately. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to ensure comprehensive care. Skills Proficiency in meal preparation and cooking for individuals with specific dietary needs. Ability to lift and assist clients safely, demonstrating proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. Experience in senior care or home health settings is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and best practices. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare providers. Compassionate nature with a commitment to supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals. Familiarity with home community care services and resources available for individuals with disabilities.
