Direct Support Professional

Duties:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
• Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans
• Foster a safe and supportive environment for individuals to promote their independence and well-being
• Document and report any changes in individuals' health or behavior to the appropriate supervisor
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care

Experience:

• Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care is highly desirable but not required
• Knowledge of resident rights and HIPAA regulations is preferred
• First aid certification is a plus

Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals, their families, and other staff members
• Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
• Strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges that may arise during the course of providing care
