Job Description

Hiring to fill several positions for existing homes in both Cuyahoga and Medina counties starting in June 2026. Must be comfortable and physically and emotionally able to work with individuals with mental illness and physical behaviors. Must have a valid driver's license and 1-year of experience in the field. Current Medication Administration certificates and CPR/First Aid certificates preferred, but not required. Well qualified candidates may be asked to interview for a House Manager position for specific homes. We will be conducting background checks prior to employment. There are offenses that will prohibit employment from this field (see disqualifying offenses below). We are also a drug-free employer and drug tests will be necessary for employment. Please see the description below for further details.
Responsibilities:
  • Reliable attendance for scheduled shifts and communication with direct supervisor and team members to coordinate the needs of the individual in the home.
  • For Manager:
    on-call for needs of the home (company phone provided).
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home care setting.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Administer medications and monitor health conditions. Assisting individuals in accessing the community for physican appointments, needs, and fun activities.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met.
  • Support individuals in participating in social activities and community integration.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in direct support is required (or a related field such as nursing, social work).
  • Knowledge of systems and procedures related to working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Must be compassionate, patient, and understanding.
  • Must be able to complete the necessary training to be in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by Medicaid, the State of Ohio, and the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
