Overview We are seeking energetic, compassionate, Strong willed and assertive Direct Support Professionals to join our team! In this vital role, you will provide hands-on assistance, companionship, and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, and health challenges. Your dedication will help promote independence, safety, and quality of life for the people you serve. A Direct Support Professional (DSP) who can stand their ground means looking for a specific blend of emotional resilience, firm boundary-setting, and calm confidence. In caregiving and behavioral support, true assertiveness isn't about being rigid or confrontational—it's about being an unshakeable anchor when things get chaotic. Responsibilities Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare teams. Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and adherence to infection control protocols. Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and update care plans regularly. Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a respectful, positive environment.
Requirements Rock-Solid Boundaries:

De-escalation Expertise:
They don't match high energy with high energy. When situations escalate, they stay grounded and diffuse the tension rather than absorbing it.
Confidence Under Pressure:
They can handle intense behavioral spikes, manipulation tactics, or pushback without panicking or backing down.
Objective Advocacy:
They know how to advocate fiercely for the individual's best interests, even if it means pushing back against systemic red tape or difficult dynamics. Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in assisted living, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Certification or training in First Aid and CPR is required; ongoing training in dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, or memory care is a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with patient monitoring and mobility assistance. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and families. Valid driver's license may be required for transportation duties. Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care.
